11/5/09:  Eastman's Docks Seabrook NH: John Sorcenelli Jr Report: Nothing much worth reporting poor day no bite, 40 people. About 30 or so fish to be filleted. Only a few Haddock and Pollock for me. Horrible NE  wind.  Once we were out there (25mi.) wind came up 25-35k and building fast.  Nothhing happening. We moved in much earlier than was supposed to. Eastman's Dock Web Site

11/09/09:  Friend Pond and his brother, Jack fished yesterday 11/8 and today 11/9/2009 off Stony Creek, CT in balmy 70 degree weather. They caught a total of seven blackfish (tautog) -one weighing nine pounds. The fish were cleaned and some made into a fish stew by Jack, and some fried by Friend and eaten by Judy.

11/01/09: The fish gods once again smiled upon me and my fishing buddy Winston Chung from Newton, Mass,. on Fri., Oct. 30.

I made the 2 hr. ride to famous Gloucester, Mass., in the wee hours of Fri. am  so as to meet Winston at the dock around 6am for a 7am departure.
Friday coincidentally was an ironic day to be in Gloucester, since it just happened to be the 18th anniversary of  the day on which the swordfish boat  the Andrea Gale was lost with all souls on board, upon which the movie "The Perfect Storm" was based.

We left the dock on time under overcast skies, with calm conditions, and a slight swell on the sea, which flattened out as the morning progressed.

Two hours later we arrived at our chosen spot, which was Tillies Ledge, one of 3 areas frequented by the Gloucester fleet. We began our first drift of the day around 09:05 in 250 feet of water, and eventually drifted off into slightly deeper water, before running up to restart another drift.

There was a slow steady pick of fish all day as we made drift after drift. I feel that bait had the edge over jigs. The quality catch consisted of mostly 5-10 lb. haddock, with a scattered catch of cusk, red hake, and wolfish. There were many cod caught as well, but only a few keepers, as most were under the 24" size limit. We were plagued by the presence of many spiny dogfish for most of the day, however we managed to fish thru them.

We had a good day, with great weather and sea conditions, minimal loss of rigs, and a decent catch. Winston ended up with 6 haddock, while my final tally was 7 haddock, 1cusk, and 1 keeper cod.  We quit fishing at 2pm, and arrived back at the dock at 4pm.

10/26/09: Buzzards Bay, Mass:   The fish gods smiled down upon the Lady K out of Onset, Mass. We fished for tautog all day (07:30-3:30) in several spots in Buzzards Bay in  the Cleveland Ledge area. There were plenty of fish to be caught for all 11 of us who made the trip, including my youngest son Shawn, good fishing buddy Frank "Mr. Fluke" Kuehn, and myself.

At one point ,anchored on our 2nd spot of the day, we experienced a flurry of hot non stop action for about a half hr from 1115 am until m1145 am, with
many fat bulldogs coming aboard ,including a bunch in the 8-81/2 lb. range. The action was fast and furious. we couldn't get our green crab baits
down to the bottom fast enough.

It was a bluebird, sunny ,calm day, with lots of action and fish, including MANY short fish, plus some short sea bass, all of which were released.

I rated the day a 91/2 out of 10.
