James E. Williams The 45th Arleigh Burke Class Destroyer (DDG - 95) was named on May 26, 2001 in honor of the late BM1 James E. Williams. BM1 Williams was the recipient of the Medal Of Honor, Navy Cross, two Silver Stars and numerous other awards in Vietnam, 1966 - 1967. He was the highest decorated enlisted Sailor in the history of the United States Navy. He received many of his awards and decorations while attached to River Section 531 as a Patrol officer and Boat Captain of PBR 105. (Patrol Boat River)
