4/24/2007

USS POWER (DD-839)
Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas
Port Everglades, Florida
April 23-28, 2007
Chaired by: John S. Pinto
Attendance: 53 total/ 25 shipmates
Highlights: Five night cruise to Mexico, Cozumel, Beliz City and Key West, Florida our first port of call.

Toured by trolley and conch train of the island stops to Hemingway House, Truman's Little White House & Sloppy Joes Bar.

Cozumel was a great shopping port. Many took cabs to town, shopped and returned to the ship for lunch.

Our next port of call Beliz City tendered in by boat, some took the tour of the Rain Forest and the Maya Caves--1 1/2 hour bus ride with no A/C.  All seem to enjoy the tour.

Friday at sea we held our membership meeting and all were in attendance. A prayer was said by our Chaplin for our troops and our passing shipmates. A Two Bell Memorial Ceremony was observed by all.

Our Master of Arms, after 7 years of voting for Pittsburg, finally got his vote and beat out  Branson by one vote for our 2009 reunion location Pittsburg.

The highlights of the cruise was at the Quest.  The Power came in first. The biggest excitement was when the wife of one of our shipmates came in 2nd in the Karaoke contest. After 3 rounds the crew was there to cheer her on--a true Superstar.

Thanks to all.
