Charlie Neal: President USS POWER Association Plank Owner. Was stationed on board at time of commission. Sept.13th 1945 and transferred off 8/20/46
Charlie's first visit to Vegas was in 1939 traveling to Barstow, CA. from Bokchito, OK. Bokchito is Cherokee for Big Creek. Charlie said, "it was the first time a country boy saw the bright lights of Freemont, Street, Las Vegas, Nevada. There was no "Strip Then" The big casinos of the time were the Golden Nugget, and Diamond Horseshoe, said Charlie.
